What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel uses a chemical solution to smooth the texture of your skin by removing the damaged outer layers. Although chemical peels are used mostly on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin on your neck and hands. A chemical peel is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. Sun exposure, acne, or just getting older can leave your skin tone uneven, wrinkled, spotted or scarred.

A chemical peel can help improve:

- Acne or acne scars
- Age and liver spots
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Freckles
- Irregular skin pigmentation
- Rough skin and scaly patches
- Scars
- Sun-damaged skin

What a chemical peel won't do...

- Treat deep facial lines
- Tighten loose or sagging skin
- Remove broken capillaries
- Change pore size
- Remove deep scars
What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a treatment that uses a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer. This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage, and stretch marks.

Microdermabrasion can:

- Improve age spots and black heads.
- Improve hyperpigmentation (patches of darkened skin).
- Exfoliate your skin, resulting in a refreshed appearance.
- Lessen the appearance of stretch marks.
- Reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
- Reduce or eliminate enlarged pores.
- Treat acne and the scars left by acne.

Microdermabrasion helps to thicken your collagen, which results in a younger looking complexion. Collagen is a protein in your skin that’s abundant when you’re a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin.
What is Laser Hair Treatment?

Unwanted hair is a common cosmetic problem for both men and women. With new laser technology, long lasting hair reduction can be obtained from any area of the body.

The staff at MPC Aesthetics uses either the Cuteral Coolglide Nd:Yag 1064nm or the Cutera Prowave LX IPL to help you achieve permanent hair reduction goals. The Coolglide is the 1st including tan skin in the summer. The Prowave LX has the power of a laser, delivered with the ease of an IPL. Come in and let us help you decide which option is best for you! FDA approved laser for hair reduction in ALL skin types

Hair reduction treatments are sold in packages of 6 sessions, as it generally requires that many sessions to treat hair in the appropriate phase of its growth cycle to see a significant reduction in hair. No anesthesia is required, but we offer a mild topical numbing cream if the patient so desires.

Since no procedure can guarantee permanent hair removal, most patients can expect a 75-90% reduction in hair after 6 sessions, leaving any remaining hairs thinner and lighter in color.
Why Botox?

Adults are living longer than ever before. We feel vital, we're active and we want our bodies to mirror youthful minds and hearts. Botox or botulinum toxin, is one of the most important substances to hit the field of facial rejuvenation. Short of a surgical facelift, this substance is the most popular way to reduce facial wrinkles.

Botox can be used as a wrinkle treatment to smooth:

- Frown lines
- Crows feet
- Forehead furrows

Smiling, frowning, squinting and even chewing - basically any facial movement can eventually lead to one of the most common signs of aging: wrinkles. They can make you appear tired or even angry when you are not. One of the quickest and safest remedies to remove wrinkles is an injection of botulinum toxin.

Botulinum toxin type A and botulinum toxin type B are both purified substances, derived from a bacteria. Injections of this substance blocks muscular nerve signals, which then weakens the muscle so that it can't contract and diminishes your unwanted facial wrinkles.

Botulinum toxin can be combined with other cosmetic skin procedures such as chemical peels, dermal fillers or microdermabrasion to further improve your results. This combination of therapies can even help to prevent the formation of new lines and wrinkles.

Why Dermal Fillers?

If you'd like to restore youthful fullness to your face, enjoy plump lips, enhance shallow contours or soften those facial creases and wrinkles, dermal fillers may be the answer. Dermal fillers have been called "liquid facelifts" because they offer many of the benefits of a surgical facelift without the downtime.

Although they can't help with excess sagging skin, these soft tissue fillers can add more volume and provide immediate results at a lower cost than surgery. These treatments aren't permanent, however, and they must be repeated and maintained.
Limelight/LP 560

The Limelight Facial is a new, non-invasive approach to skin rejuvenation using Cutera's Limelight/LP 560. The procedure offers the advantage of improving skin tone and surface imperfections associated with aging and photodamage. The Limelight Facial is ideal for any part of your face, neck and décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots.

Laser Genesis

The laser Genesis procedure utilizes non-invasive laser technology to safely, discretely and effectively treat fine line wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin texture and diffuse redness and scars. You can expect to see subtle yet consistent results after each treatment, without unwanted side effects such as bruising or excessive skin irritation. Treatments can be performed in a relaxed, comfortable manner without the use of topical anesthetics or gel. *4-6 treatments recommended.
What is Laser Vein Treatment?

Unsightly veins and vascular lesions bother millions of women and men. Unfortunately, unwanted vascular lesions and veins do not go away by themselves. With advances in laser technology they can now be safely and effectively treated. The staff at MCP Aesthetics uses the state of the art, Cutera Excel Nd: Yag laser, to remove unsightly veins and benign vascular lesions from all parts of the body. This device uses a concentrated beam of light to target the blood vessels that have formed the lesion or vein below the skin. The light projected underneath the skin is converted into heat, destroying the blood vessel while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.

Vein Therapy

The Cutera Excel can remove unsightly veins from all parts of the body. Small, facial veins (or telangiectasia) can be treated quickly without bruising or complication. Spider veins and large blue leg veins can also be treated with excellent results. Knotty varicose veins are not good candidates.

Vascular Lesion Treatment

Vascular lesions are comprised of blood vessels that have formed in an abnormal pattern directly underneath the surface of the skin. This usually results in a red or purple lesion since the blood vessels can be visible through the skin. These lesions occur in many sizes, shapes and forms all over the body. These lesions occur in a variety of forms including port wine stains, “broken” capillaries, hemangiomas, and cherry angiomas. Blue veins around the under eyes can also be treated. The redness and broken blood vessels of rosacea also fall into this category of vascular lesion laser treatment.
What is Hormone Replacement Therapy?

The complaints of aging are well known; you might tire easily, your thinking is fuzzy and unclear, you have trouble sleeping and insomnia is common, you gain weight and can't seem to lose it, your interest in sex declines, and many others. Along with these outward symptoms, your body is undergoing internal changes that might not be as obvious, but pose an equally grave danger to your well-being and quality of life. Your immune system gradually loses the ability to mount an effective immune response. Levels of inflammation skyrocket, increasing the risk of diseases ranging from cancer to heart disease. Your bones no longer rejuvenate like they once did, and your muscles begin to lose their youthful elasticity.

Unfortunately, many people think of these changes as a naturalpart of aging. In fact, these changes are all driven by a single underlying cause: declining hormone levels. As you age, your levels of vital hormones decline rapidly and unevenly. This decline affects levels of every hormone system in your body, from sex hormones such as estrogen and testosterone to thyroid hormone and even hormones that govern mood and hunger.

The good news is that this underlying hormone imbalance and deficiency can be corrected! Modern bioidentical hormone replacement therapy can be used to measure your hormone levels and then correct hormone levels to restore your youthful vitality. With bioidentical hormone therapy, or BHRT, you can reverse the dreaded symptoms of aging and regain the sexual vitality, youthful energy, and mental and emotional health of your twenties and thirties.
